The Americans whisked away the useful nazis from the trial enabling them to be the only country in the world to use 2 atomic bombs in a theater of war.

What Starmer COULD do to make a good difference though, is getting other war criminals prosecuted. Blair and other New Labour figures for a start, most within his influence, and then start looking to the USA with Bush, Obama, and Trump.
He could also start trying to break the UK’s alliances with some of its most important partners for international security, but the ones who are rights abusing regimes that don’t justify such alliances. Saudi Arabia and Israel for a start.
