New gate + metal fences alongside the Russian embassy preventing anyone from walking on the footpath

  1. That was quick. Does that mean that tradesmen aren’t actually in short supply in Ireland?

  2. Hmmm planning permission seems relevant here. Dublin City Council (I’m assuming it’s DCC) have a form you fill in to make a complaint.

    https://www.dublincity.ie/residential/planning/planning-applications/planning-enforcement/how-make-planning-enforcement-complaint

Edit: If it is DLR, then the DLR page is here

    https://www.dlrcoco.ie/en/planning/planning-enforcement/unauthorised-development

The complaint form for DLR is here

    http://www.dlrcoco.ie/sites/default/files/atoms/files/planning_enforcement_complaint_form_3.pdf

And you email it to planningenforcement@dlrcoco.ie

Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a big lot of complaints about development here without planning permission…

    If I was doing it…if I was…I think I’d point about

    – the address
    – the installation of metal blockades on the footpath
    – that it’s development within the meaning of the Planning and Development Act, 2000
    – that its not exempt development
    – that no private citizen could simply do this on a footpath
    – even if they want to prevent graffiti they can’t just develop without permission

Edit: As to whether this needs planning or not, even if “intended” as temporary that’s not the end of the story, but I’m not going to get into this. We have officials assigned to investigate.

May be all wrong, but funny to require DCC / DLR to investigate and this cunt won’t get any sympathy.

  3. “All right lads, we’ve had a chat with the bishop and he said if that fecker shows up again, taser the bastard straight away, priest or no priest., and a coupla good kick’s in the ribs when ye get him in the van. The gloves are off now, it’ll be like the old days “

  4. There have been people attacking the entrance to the Embassy for several days. Permitting this breaches our international treaty obligations. It provides Russia, which has transparently been inventing most of the “facts” about its invasion of Ukraine, with a genuine verifiable grievance to complain about, which only helps the current Russian government.

Under the Vienna Convention: “The receiving State is under a special duty to take all appropriate steps to protect the premises of the mission against any intrusion or damage and to prevent any disturbance of the peace of the mission or impairment of its dignity.”

  5. Hmmm… Architect here that does a lot of enforcement work. Whilst it’s exempt development under the Planning and Development Act 2001 (as amended) to erect a wall and gate on your boundary, that isn’t their boundary. That is Dublin City Council property. As the wife might say, those few inches matter.

    Time to draft a letter….

  6. Was walking the dog earlier & saw the truck that was driven in Russian embassy gates being towed… Few seconds later Gardai on motorbikes were stopping traffic to allow a long truck pass – with the barrier to go where Russian gate was!

  7. Love our crazy nation 🇮🇪 let this be a warning to Russia we stand as free men with Ukrainian men 🇺🇦we suffered at the hands off a dictator, the world needs to unit and show the Russians we will push back .

  8. They didn’t do this to the USA embassy when they invaded Iraq and Afghanistan killing hundreds of thousands of civilians.

I suppose some people feel how the media tells them to feel.
