STEUBENVILLE, Ohio — During Steubenville’s Economic Development Committee Meeting on Tuesday, representatives from OMEGA and ASPIRE discussed strategies for boosting the city’s economic growth.
OMEGA (Ohio Mid-Eastern Government Association) provided guidance on securing state and federal funding for projects.
It encouraged the city to reach out for assistance as it can help navigate the funding process from start to finish.
ASPIRE is a program the city uses to help with grants and development initiatives. Their representative provided a recap of its 2024 efforts and outlined goals for 2025 focusing on furthering the city’s economic development with a focus on north end development.
“The North End is kind of at the top of my list to look at things that are creative,” ASPIRE grant writer Cassandra Kokoski said. “So, sometimes they are maybe not grants that the city can apply for as the applicant maybe a community member is an applicant like a nonprofit.”
