We need redistribution of wealth. If only to counteract the redistribution of wealth from the working and middles classes to the 1% that’s been going on these past decades.
It’s apathy in the UK amongst voters. The British public care about poverty but just don’t care enough and haven’t cared enough for decades. The Tories have never and do not believe in such policies. Labour when in power did nothing to redistribute wealth either. We are a selfish nation who put ourselves first, we have been fed a diet of low taxes are best for the economy and believe this to be true.
this is what you get when the entire economy is a ponzi scheme.
too many people have bought into the bottom level of the scheme, with their 20 year mortgage. and dont want to lose the ‘value’ of their house, despite the fact they would be massively better off if it only cost 20% of its current level.
and the knock on effect to the highstreet and employment of all that rent and mortgage money no longer going to 1%er banker oligarchs.
then you get to the sycophantic cowards that crow about how they are good hard working tax cattle that pays their bills on time, and anyone else is just stupid and lazy. since that makes them feel special.
Too busy giving out housing to refugees to help people in our own country.
