Well, more accurately, we are paying the price of Mitch McConnell who blocked his appointment to the Supreme Court.
I cannot forgive Biden for this catastrophic, disastrous pick of Garland.
Garland was not a republican nor was he in the federalist society so can we stop with those same, endless comments?
Anyway, the issue is that Biden lazily sleepwalked into picking this AG. Why wasn’t Biden engaged in this most consequential decisions?
Why didn’t Biden make it clear that no wrong-doing was to be off limits — or some appropriate way of indicating that trump’s crimes as president needed to be investigated and prosecuted?
trump was at his weakest in winter 2021 and realistically could have been stopped then and there had serious investigations been opened into his actions with the saudis and russia among others.
This will prove to be the biggest mistake in US history. And maybe world history.
Can we spare a little blame for the Republican Senators who refused to convict on either of his 2 impeachments?
One guy didn’t screw this up. One nation did. It took a village and no one is willing to admit this country is a failure. This character of this nation is a reflection of its voters.
If any of this was about preserving “norms” the pardons wouldn’t have flown out the door like they did on Biden’s way out…
Garland has NO excuse for not investigating a crime simply because the excused announced his intention to run for office. By choosing to apply the law at different times our “Democracy” has failed.

Biden could have replaced him from day one and didn’t. When asked recently why this happened, Biden said he was given bad advice. This keeps happening every time a Democrat gets into office. When a Republican is elected, all of a sudden it is anything goes, spending increases, wars are started, billionaires are given open checks for their companies to make products that nobody wants and are destroying the planet. But elect a Democrat and suddenly we get nothing but excuses for the next four years. Sorry, our hands are tied. Sorry, we don’t have enough support in congress, Sorry, I was given bad advice. The American people are sick of the Nazi oligarchs on the right and the spineless, milquetoast liberals on the left failing to uphold the principles which we voted them to do. I live in North Carolina. Just the other day I drove by a house that had a sign proudly posted up in front.. “Don’t blame me, I voted for Trump!” I wonder how long that sign will stay up
I mean, Trump should’ve been impeached and convicted which is one of the only ways to actually prevent him from running, per the constitution. Plenty of blame to go around. The key issue, voters should be able to elect the leader they want – we’re in a democracy. Unfortunately, democracy is messy business.

I would argue that putting a staunch Republican in-charge of the DoJ was just about the dumbest thing ever – and this Republican stooge letting Trump completely off of the hook was 100% foreseeable (remember Mueller, etc…?).
