  1. How hard is it for the Japanese officials to open up Senior Citizen clubs? Board games, cards, etc.

  2. Wait, Reddit told me Japan was a utopia with no crime and women who were happier than ever because they knew better than to advocate for equal rights.

  3. The strongest friendships are the ones you make in prison.

  4. they can afford health care the problem is lack of caretakers even if they hire immigrant workers it would take awhile especially that the requirement is to learn Japanese which is one of the most difficult language to learn

  5. It’s so surreal to see all these looming threats slowly creeping up on us. Automation, Fascism, climate change, this. The future just looks so bleak

  6. Listen, can I let them pay me to just spend time with them? I mean it ethically, I have a family to take care of. But I’ll gladly be some grown up grandson to some peaceful old lady on her way out, too. 🤔

  7. Fuck em those fucking throw the younger generation under the bus they can live with the conqueances….

Like what did they think would happen when there is a culture where people could barely have time for themsleves let alone a family on top of the sledgehammer to dating since no one has any time to form a relationshitp?

  8. OMG, this headline is a movie pitch. Who’s writing the screenplay! This just feels like the summer hit We’ve all been waiting for.

  9. Sounds to me like these are two separate issues

The loneliness and health care … no?

  10. This was a plot line in Sunny. I wish that show had gotten a second season!

  11. The US can probably help withe the health care part …

ha jk … with the prison part I meant

  12. Easy problem to solve. Find some American anime nerds that have 0% chance with the ladies, and ship them over. Sure your waifu is 60 instead of 20, but she’s still a waifu.

  13. Y’all I might come hang out if I didn’t hear such things about how foreigners are treated long term. I just want to vibe. However I understand if this is not possible.

  14. This is actually insane. And unfortunately Japan’s culture has the interests of the older generation so heavily weighted that they fundamentally don’t understand that young people hate this.

They built a system that fosters loneliness, and then question why people are lonely? Bruh
