You’ll be safe from the fire, you’ll just have to take your chances swimming through the lake of molten plastic.
Surely the plastic is just sucking the heat up too
How funny would it be if the safety guards set on fire 🔥 🤭
Behind everything like that…. There is someone who tried their luck with a no win no fee lawyer
But is that really making any difference to heat that large space?
This somehow seems more dangerous 😂
i get the need for the guard, i mean a rogue toddler is likley to run up an touch ANYTHING.
what i dont see the need for is a heater next to an open door….
You’d be surprised, some dumb dumb would probably still walk into it then act entitled and try to claim
Nothing like warming the bollards on a cold day.
You have to keep those things caged behind barriers or they will get away, there are fire escapes everywhere.
Hmmmmm melty
I’ve dealt with people who have attempted to claim from our company because their kid climbed a fence into a restricted area (with a big sign saying no entry) and then cut their knee climbing on rocks.
H&S gone mad usually follows claim-culture gone mad.
The barriers are just cold, that’s all
Something tells me despite their efforts, this is still a lawsuit waiting to happen
As a kid, the classroom we had was in a glorified shed no heating apart from those old school propane bottle fed heaters. I used to use the fire guard as a rack to make my cooked bacon as crispy as I wanted.
They’re just cold. Leave them be.
Oh hey, handforth dean, what a surprise
This is needed. You have a toddler who gets loose you know they are going straight for that bright hot thing.
How long till the barriers burst into flames 😂
Handforth?? Near Tesco?
Not really, this looks to be a supermarket where kids maybe about. Kids are very curious of things they haven’t seen and maybe enticed to go too close or touch the hot surface.
Mmmm some nice hot plastic barriers.
Everyone knows burning plastic has no dangerous effects
I learned the hard way. No matter what job I’m trying to do, someone will want to walk through your work area, under your ladders, or climb over you as your sat on the floor trying to do something. Now I always close off the area I’m working in.
Had it though? There are so many fucking morons out there, that someone would get burnt and sue.
I appreciate this because my primary school aged kid would stand close as fuck to that in his cagoule and shrink wrap himself
PSA, I don’t think having a fire guard is H&S gone mad, I think putting a plastic guard super close to a bar heater is as mad as Mad Melty McMeltington the mad man of Melton.
Thank you for your time 😁
OP moved the guard to stop it melting but I bet the temptation for others to move it back again is strong 😏
They should have upgraded it to Chocolate.
Surely putting objects too close to the heater is more of a risk? Imagine the panic if a fire started right by the door.
If you’ve seen how my in-laws parent, you’d know why that’s there.
In one of my last jobs there was a sign above the sink that said not to drink the bleach.
Was very disappointed to find out there wasn’t a story attached to it other than the company apparently being told to put one up by a health and safety officer.
Anyone who cries “it’s health and safety gone mad!” Has not worked with the general public. There are some seriously dumb people out there, as you can see by the fact those barriers were close enough to melt (and well done you for fixing them)
I guarantee someone will walk into that without the barricade lol
This reminds me of some workmen who were digging up the pavement outside my house. They went away leaving the hole, and put up one of these little plastic barriers – except rather than put it in front of the hole, they leaned it against a lamppost wherever it promptly blew over and fell into the road. The sound of screeching brakes prompted me to go outside and rescue it.
There is a danger in assuming that just because you’ve brought a piece of safety equipment, it magically makes everyone safe.
Just warm up with this molten plastic,
Barriers get cold too…
