The police are picking up the tab for Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and Durek Verrett’s wedding.

The Møre og Romsdal police are paying the wedding bill, shelling out 1,6 million NOK, with 1 million alone in salaries, having been hired as security for the wedding. Half a million went to the stays of their local officers, and an additional 50 000 in material costs.

Early on, the police had requested financial support from Politidirektoratet (the police higher-ups), estimating a cost of 3 million. (The Oslo police would aid them with motorcycles, as they didn’t have such themselves.)

The department chief told Politiforum in an e-mail that everything was planned well, even planning on covering the costs within what was feasable for them, and that their work is done.
