It is sad that we are living in a time when a high-ranking member of the Cristian religion needs to plead with the president, who was elected due in large part to Christians, to be kind and have mercy. It is pathetic when that president calls that person nasty and demands an apology for doing so.
Unfortunately, the cult has redefined Christianity and the Republican party.

It is curious why not a single one of the 53 US republican Senators is coming to her defense.
Kindness is advocated for in Washington every damn day by progressives. The kindness that would be provided by their proposed bills and laws are stopped by the authoritarian right.
And humor like yours helps perpetuate the mechanisms that helped the right achieve the power they have today.
There are 3 main wings of the media.
Right wing media that shits on democrats.
Mainstream media that takes an enlightened centrist view and acts like the left and right are equally shit. And they shit on both democrats and republicans even though most of them would agree that the right is worse.
And then progressive media of course complains about Trump but also shit’s on itself.
If you want more kindness in Washington, please don’t be like the wing of the media that acts like both sides are equivalent. One side wants more kindness than the other. Sure you can score internet points by joking about how both sides are shit. That’s your prerogative. I just wish people would acknowledge the kindness fought for in Washington by the politicians everyone shits on. Are they perfect? No. But they often fight for kindness.
In a democracy, it’s not only permissable to criticize a president but our fucking duty. When it becomes wrong or illegal to criticize, and the president uses there position to bully, attack, and harass ordinary people, then it’s no longer called democracy.
