President Donald Trump on Monday cast himself as a peacemaker in his second inaugural address, but immediately vowed that the United States would be “taking back” the Panama Canal. Trump issued the threat, without explaining details, after weeks of refusing to rule out military action against Panama over the waterway, which the United States handed over at the end of 1999. I don't think the Panama Canal is operated by China, which is a very bad excuse. I think his expansionism will only bring destruction and war death.

im a us cotizen living in panama…the government is not properly distributing the funds from the canal back to the people or at least the appearance thereos, there is usually 160 ships waiting to get in but only 25-26 big ships are waiting daily end up going through. if you want to jump the line a company has to pay $1 mil to the canal authority to do so…i wonder what budget that goes in. Maybe the usa can jointly administer the canal.

The Americans built the canal and gave Panama its independence more than 100 years ago. If it weren't for the United States, Panama would still be a poor department of Colombia.

My guess, Trump we'll be cutting a new deal with Panama, one that China will have no part of.
