    Make it 500% and see if you can do it for non UK residents first properties too

  2. Oh no, will the rich have to pay 3k a year instead of 1.5k? that’ll make them think twice about buying another property

    The extra tax won’t go towards housing the homeless or any other housing need though.

  3. How does that work for renters? I’m not in Oxford but I live in someone else’s 2nd home technically but I pay the council tax because I live here.

    I’m assuming this would only apply to vacant homes where the owner pays the CT.

  5. I think this would apply to empty homes? If a home has a tenant they are applicable for council tax as they are getting the services.

    Every year double it. No Cap, let the home owner eventually pay the price of the earths gdp.

    We do not need second homes in society. Get a fucking hotel.

  7. Still a steal for people with expensive properties. The US they use percentage based property taxes. Here? It is basically flat.
