Princess Beatrice has pulled out of the World Economic Forum in Davos following medical advice amid her second pregnancy, the Express understands.
The Princess of York has been a regular at the annual meeting in previous years and was expected to attend this year too.
According to the Times, the eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson was tipped to talk on a panel looking at how private capital from family offices and sovereign wealth funds can be used to tackle climate change.
However, the Express understands that Beatrice, who is in her third trimester, has been advised not to travel abroad by her doctors and thus missed this year’s event, which took place between January 20-24.
This was the reason why she joined the Royal Family at Sandringham last Christmas, instead of flying to Italy to spend the holidays with with husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s family, as originally planned.
It’s typical for doctors to advise those expecting not to fly when in their third trimester.
The Princess of York is currently expecting her second child with her husband, whom she shares daughter Sienna, three, as well as Edoardo’s son Christopher ‘Wolfie’ Woolf, eight, with.
The new royal baby is expected to arrive early next year.
Buckingham Palace released a statement last October announcing the joyous news.
It said: “Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child together in early spring; a sibling for Wolfie, aged eight, and Sienna, aged three.
“His Majesty The King has been informed and both families are delighted with the news.”
The announcement was accompanied by two new pictures from the family.
One showed blonde-haired Sienna from behind as she walked along a country lane, holding hands in the middle of her father and big brother Wolfie.
The other showed an overjoyed Beatrice—wearing a black puffer jacket—smiling at the camera while being embraced by Mr Mapelli Mozzi, who was gazing at his wife.
