1. Well wouldn’t you. If you see social security and Medicare being gutted that you are paying for now but probably will not get it when they retire. And AI development is going so fast that by the time they can establish a good job it may get cut for cost because AI is cheaper then paying a living wage.

3. Can’t blame them. Gen Z aren’t deluding themselves with the LIE that is the American Dream.

   They know America is cooked by the boomer oligarchy.

4. They call it the American Dream because you’d have to be asleep to believe in it.

   Also, what do you expect. Older Americans climbed the ladder and then pulled it up from behind them. The ultimate “fuck you, I got mine.” Young people have soured towards the status quo because the status quo doesn’t work for them. It’s that simple.

   And they’re under attack, too. Like social media is very profitable for shareholders. But it’s destroyed the minds’ and psychological well being of everyone in the process. And the hardest hit demographic here are young people.

7. It’s because places like reddit keep reinforcing that Gen Z has no chance in life because those that don’t are extremely vocal about it and try to recruit as many people to their lost cause beliefs.

   If someone is convinced that they have no chance, then they will have no chance.

11. What jobs does gen Z currently do. I live in a sanctuary city and all the entry level jobs seem to be staffed with immigrants? I’m wondering what jobs gen Z must be doing currently?

14. My students (high school seniors) all tell me they have accepted that they will be worse off than their parents. They seem to have a sense of peace about it. I teach economics and government, so I spend a lot of time showing them concerning data and trends. They just laugh and say that they’re ‘cooked’. I can only hope that I’ve scared them into making decisions that’ll put them ahead of the curve.
