AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) – WT’s Enterprise and Small Business Development Center is seeing an uptick in 2025 with new businesses coming through the door.
With the start of a new year and new year’s resolutions, the center sees more business owners come in for help starting their businesses.
“We always see an uptick in January of people wanting to start new businesses. I think it’s pretty safe to say that in 2024 we’ve seen more people come in this year than we have in 2023 or 2022, kind of that post-COVID area,” said Gina Woodward, regional director of America’s SBDC at WTAMU.
The Enterprise Center says these small businesses bring jobs into the community and help grow the economy.
“We need people to open jobs here and we need people to become employers here so that the wonderful students that we have at WT can then go into gainful employment,” said Brian Enevoldsen, managing director at WT Enterprise Center. “So as you add small businesses, you’re adding jobs to the community and then that community continues to grow.”
Small businesses are the life force of a community and this network is here to help.
“Small businesses historically long withstanding have been the best vehicle for that economic growth. So small businesses change communities and without small businesses, communities don’t exist,” said Enevoldsen.
WT’s Enterprise Center says it can tell when a business is going to succeed by the clarity of what they’re doing and a solid plan is set up.
WT’s Enterprise and Small Business Development Center can help build and create small businesses for those who are interested.
They say they are here to help your small business succeed for the benefit of the Panhandle.
