You can be educated and still be completely stupid. You can also be highly educated and have no morals or empathy.

I’ve been saying this for weeks to my family and friends who voted for them. Called them out as uneducated and ignorant. They don’t seem phased by it, which just validates my reasoning.
Agreed. This isnt about arguing with each other about the merits of having a high speed rail. This is about a guy talking about canceling MSBNC’s broadcast license and withholding the ability to share disease related information with other countries and vice versa.

The majority of people who voted for Trump are not MAGA. They voted for the Republican candidate because they always do no matter who the candidate is. This is the same for most blue voters.
This is the mistake democrats made in November. Yeah there are a lot of uneducated racist people that voted for Trump. There were lots of wealthier folks that would benefit from his likely tax policies. But he won because there were a lot of perfectly well educated people that voted for him instead of Biden. I have friends that fit this to a T. In the end they feel like his policies will do better for them individually ($$$) and while they say they don’t like “the immigrant and abortion stuff” they have to prioritize what affects them the most. I’m not saying I agree with their logic. It completely confuses me. But they exist en masse. Unless Trump’s next 4 years are an economic catastrophe, the Democrats are going to have to figure out how to attract both progressive voters as well as these people. Republicans have done a good job painting the Democratic Party as obsessed with transgender folks, harboring criminals and rapists and being anti-religion. It’s BS but it’s worked. That makes some middle of the road voters uncomfortable, including minorities. There are a lot of very religiously conservative hispanic, black, Asian etc etc people out there.
It’s a freaking huge challenge. So unless their vote feels like it’s going to make their life better, here we are.
I agree with her AND I don’t think these kinds of public statements serve any good purpose other than lock people in to their ignorant beliefs .
