On January 23, 2025, Britain’s Queen Camilla attended the Anne Frank Trust’s annual lunch at the Hilton Park Lane in London. The event took place ahead of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, which is commemorated annually on January 27 as Holocaust Memorial Day. This year, Holocaust Memorial Day also marks the 80th anniversary of the end of the Holocaust and the death of Anne Frank.
Last year, Queen Camilla became the first royal patron of the Anne Frank Trust, an organization that uses Anne’s story and the lessons of the Holocaust to empower children aged nine to 15 to recognize and challenge prejudice. During her visit, the Queen watched a presentation by children who have participated in the charity’s programs. She later joined a candle-lighting ceremony alongside survivors of genocides and hate crimes, followed by a moment of silence to honor the victims.
