TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Fort Riley officials released the 2024 Fort Riley Economic Impact Summary on Friday, Jan. 24.
The report shows that Fort Riley had a direct economic impact of more than $2 billion in fiscal year 2024 (Oct. 1, 2023, through Sept. 30, 2024).
Col. Jerry Nunziato, commander of the Fort Riley Garrison, presented the summary’s findings at the Flint Hills Regional Council Growth Summit on Friday.
“Fort Riley continues to have a positive impact on the economy of the Flint Hills region and is vitally important to the Kansas economy. At the same time, it’s important to note that the great support we get from the Flint Hills communities helps make Fort Riley the jewel that it is,” Nunziato said.
Additionally, the installation serves a population of more than 59,000 Soldiers, family members, civilian employees, retirees, and veterans living and working on post or in the Flint Hills region.
