Given all the human rights abuses being committed by Saudi Arabia I don’t know how anyone can ignore it just for money. Professional golfers are already wealthy so why support a regime by endorsing a golf tournament with your presence, funded by a government which actively uses slavery and performs mass executions.
Lowry was quoted as saying, “I’m not a politician, I’m a golfer” when questioned about attending the tournament given Saudi Arabias human rights abuses. Well you don’t need to be a politician to condemn slavery and mass executions.
