  1. This is one of the reasons Australia has one of the largest list of endangered species .

  2. I keep my cats inside 24/7, because they can’t understand roads or the fact that they’re not allowed to kill wildlife

  3. We need massive investment in TNR. I wonder what it would cost to hire enough people, and enough vets, to capture every unaltered feral cat, get them fixed and return them.

Yes, those cats would still eat wildlife. But you can’t get the volunteer support for a lethal trapping program so mass sterilization is the best option.

    What would it take?

I’m in the USA so I’m thinking of my country. But maybe a smaller country could go first to see what we learn.

  4. I always joke our cat is a serial killer who is serving life in prison with us. He was dumped and when we found him he was hunting anything and everything to survive

  5. Was dating a woman years ago who refused to keep her cat indoors only. Despite her being a biologist I couldn’t convince her it was the right thing to do…her cat was a very successful hunter. I decided it was best we split, it was a deal breaker for me.

  6. Given the choice between humans and cats, I’d prefer to be killed by cats.

  7. We got our cat to deter rodents in the house and garage. Until she went outside she didn’t do much deterring. (There were mice in the garage at the time). After a couple of weeks of being outside, the mice were no longer living in the garage.

Cats that are just pets should be indoors. Cats that are meant for hunting, need to be outdoors to develop and hone their skills.
So far, no birds have been got by her.

  8. Spayed microchipped housecats are outside everywhere in the UK, culturally it’s more unusual to have indoor cats. My cul de sac has about 12 outdoor cats I see often. Indoor cats are on the rise though, particularly in cities where people live in flats or near places dangerous to let a cat outside.
