Some people just want to watch this world burn..
The “this is instant WW3 / nuclear war” argument is a Russian talking point and seems to be pushed a lot, even by people who don’t understand that it was planted there.
So let me put things into perspective.
If we were talking military action on Russian soil or airspace that would be colossally stupid and risky and would be a fair point to make.
But Ukraine is not a part of any military alliance with Russia, nor is it a part of NATO. The moment that Russian army stepped on the Ukranian soil uninvited, it made it more than fair game for NATO to do the same, more than cordially invited by the sovereign and democratically elected government of this nation under attack.
So there is no reason why this sorely needed assistance to a friendly nation fighting for it’s existence would be any kind of crossing of a real red line. It’s just one of the many malleable red lines that suit Kremlin in their quest for destruction of Ukraine.
And it’s even better if it’s not done under the banner of NATO, but of individual friendly nations. A Polish pilot shoots down a Russian jet over Ukraine? Well, what was it doing there uninvited? Russians shoot down a Polish jet? It sucks, but it’s a war zone. And the pilot has a friendly population if he/she bails.
As long as we stay clear of Russian airspace and respect Russian sovereignty over their borders, any kind of friendly military action sanctioned by Ukraine is fair game. And it won’t lead to nuclear holocaust any more than equipping Ukranians with advanced anti-aircraft and anti-armour missiles did.
Yes. Close it already and that worm won’t risk anything. ALL OF THEIR CHILDREN are in EU.
Every military expert: This is the dumbest idea possible abd not possible without actively attacking the russian federation and bombing aa weapons stationed in russia and belarus
