  6. There’s one small, teeny problem with this: Congress controls appropriations, not the president or DOGE.

    Maybe have a look at the Constitution.

    Knowing how much bullshit flies out of this guys mouth just for a “here I am, look at me!” Moment, I wouldn’t doubt that he pulled rejected proposals out of the bin and claimed success.

  18. I know it is a futile question, but I have no idea how it is even legal. DOGE doesn’t even exist? Musk isn’t actually appointed to anything legally. Not to mention it is someone profiting handsomely from government contracts supposedly picking winners and losers. What are we on day 4 and we have two crypto scams, an alcoholic abuser that needed a tie breaking vote as secdef, Musk seig heiling twice, Trump threatening Denmark, Trump attempting to clean house in all scientific research agencies, and Trump thinking he can rename the Gulf of Mexico with an EO.

  19. All talk no game. They don’t have the power to determine how money is spent. They can change vendors or contracts- but that opens up potential for lawsuits. The money is mandated to be spent by Congress. They can’t just say “nah”.

    All this is doing is making the government LESS efficient- because it is just creating a HUMONGOUS backlog of probable lawsuits for breaches of congressional law/ preexisting contracts.

  20. DOGE has no authority to cancel any contract with anyone or change anything. It’s only an advisory group to the POTUS. Not even an official department.

  35. Newsflash: you can’t just “cancel” a government contract. Why do you think they’re hundreds of pages long? A ton of clauses that protect both the vendor and the government. Feds have to give a REASON why they are stopping work/canceling. Usually involves paying out money due on the contract. Will cost millions to do.

  36. I’m not sure if people understand this, but canceling government contracts is deleting jobs from the economy, these people will either go on wellfare or unemployment (which are going to get canceled soon) or end up in mass poverty driving crime through the roof.

  37. He and Trump goal are to make US vulnerable and weak. Trump cancels allies one by one. Musk cancels government contracts to weaken US security and defence. All points to whom they work for. Its not US or for Americans sake.
