5. A step in the right direction that only took three years.

   I now get the sense that the delays in some of the “they finally got around to it” sanctions and enforcement regarding Russia’s hydrocarbon exports is the result of the powers that be in the west making decisions to mitigate the negative impact on friendly nations. There are certainly many discussions and plans none of us ever hear about in all kinds of areas, and while most of us are shouting “they should send the F16s now!” kind of stuff, the nuts and bolts planners of such things have carefully written 6, 12, 18, 24 and/or 36 month schedules and adapted them on the fly.

   Three years on and everyone who is going to do so has had adequate time to find new hydrocarbon sources, so new sanctions and decisions like these aren’t as painful to friendly economies. Note that they’re coming at the same time Ukraine has their homegrown long-range drone fleet come online, one that’s now taking out a *lot* of Russia’s refining and storage capacity.

   Just sayin’

8. The West need to force these other countries to stop allowing these ships to be registered under their flag. They could threaten to ramp up shipping fees or block entry to some ports if they don’t comply.

9. They are so brave just because they are not bordering Russia.

10. Seems like a lot of individual pieces are finally coming together to really put the squeeze on Russia and end this thing.
