  1. Oh look, another trade war

Who could have seen that coming?

  2. The civilized world needs to unite and put tariffs+sanctions on the US until Trump is removed and brought to justice for his crimes

  3. Is this what winning looks like? I already miss the idea of Kamala

  4. Trump’ll say to his moron followers “that’s okay cuz those tariffs will just be passed down Colombians” and they’ll never connect the two

  5. MAGAs = “my prices will come down now because of tariffs.”

  6. Lol. So the Trumpers thought that:

A.) Trump created this new deal that has been around for years now

B.) That Colombia would just instantly fold

C.) That somehow Trump sending the wrong planes was Colombia’s fault

Bonus: Many of them misspelled Colombia.

How wrong can you be about so many things at once?

Here’s the best part: we export more to them than they import here. So these tariffs hit the US harder than they’ll hit Colombia.

  7. What’s amusing is the us has refused Columbia’s offer of using their own presidential plane lmao.

Trump and co have been completely outmanoeuvred here and just look petulant after not getting their way.

  8. Trade war in less than 7 days.
Trump is speed running the destruction of the USA…

  9. Trump is handing out tariffs like Oprah handed out cars.

  10. This is going to be spun as “Trump put tariffs on Colombia because they raised the price of coffee”.

  11. It reminds me of the Boomers with Brexit. A bunch of old imperials that thought they had leverage to Act a certain way and still be taken care of.

  12. Americans sure picked one hell of a winner in Trump. Good job 👍. As a Canadian I’ll be preemptively avoiding to buy any American products, like Cars, tools, food, etc… there is plenty alternatives.

  13. Here’s an American saying thank you President Petro, for standing up to Trump, which our own politicians won’t do.

  14. I can tell my future grandkids I lived thru the great coffee wars of 2025

  15. I am so confused rn. Is this awesome or is this stupid? Awesome or stupid?

(Ps I hope the world slaps us around a bit. We deserve it and Trump deserves to learn he’s a fucking child)

  16. less than a week into his presidency and we are already in trade war with an ally.

of course the trumpers are already acting like this is a good thing. we’re being held hostage to the dumbest among us in this country

  17. Sigh. Couldn’t even make it a week without an international incident. Can they just 25th amendment him already because fuck this shit…

  18. This is one of the first of many ‘popcorn event’ where Trump is showing himself to be a tough guy on the world stage but is in actual fact nudging another South American country towards China. By the time Trumps lackeys change the constitution to allow him to stay in power the US will have no allies and no one to trade with. 🍿🍿🍿

  19. GOOD. I hope more countries start doing this to trump. Let the fool box himself in a corner with his stupid tariffs and other boneheaded edicts. I will GLADLY pay more if it means that moron gets put in his place.

  20. I have a better idea. Stop shipping cocaine to the US. It will destroy the GOP within four months. How will the Trump family function without it?

  21. Can someone explain to me why you make undocumented workers in the USA pay taxes but also denigrate them as illegals?

  22. Gustavo Petro’s response to Trump is epic and awesome:

    >Trump, I don’t like traveling to the U.S. much, it’s a bit boring, but I confess there are worthy things. I like to go to the Black neighborhoods of Washington. There, I saw a whole fight in the capital of the U.S. between Blacks and Latinos, with barricades, which seemed to me like nonsense, because they should unite.
    >
    >I confess that I like Walt Whitman, Paul Simon, Noam Chomsky, and Miller.
    >
    >I confess that Sacco and Vanzetti, who have my blood, in the history of the U.S., are memorable and I follow them. They were murdered for being labor leaders with the electric chair by the fascists who are inside the U.S. just as they are in my country.
    >
    >I don’t like your oil, Trump, you are going to end the human species with greed. Maybe one day, along with a drink of whisky—which I accept despite my gastritis—we can talk frankly about this, but it’s difficult because you consider me an inferior race, and I am not, nor is any Colombian.
    >
    >So if you are looking for a stubborn person, that’s me, period. You can try to stage a coup with your economic power and arrogance, like you did with Allende. But I will die by my law, I withstood torture, and I resist you. I don’t want slave owners on Colombia’s side, we already had many and we freed ourselves. Who I want to be on Colombia’s side are lovers of freedom. If you can’t join me, I will go elsewhere. Colombia is the heart of the world, and you didn’t understand it. This is the land of the yellow butterflies, the beauty of Remedios, but also of Colonel Aureliano Buendía, one of whom I am, perhaps the last.
    >
    >You will kill me, but I will survive in my town, which is before yours, in the Americas. We are peoples of the winds, the mountains, the Caribbean Sea, and freedom.
    >
    >You don’t like our freedom, fine. I do not shake hands with white slave owners. I shake the hands of libertarian whites, heirs of Lincoln, and of the Black and white rural boys from the U.S., in front of whose graves I cried and prayed on a battlefield, which I reached after walking through the mountains of Tuscany and after saving myself from COVID.
    >
    >They are the US, and before them, I kneel, before no one else.
    >
    >Overthrow me president, and the Americas and humanity will respond.
    >
    >Colombia, now stop looking to the north, look to the world, our blood comes from the blood of the Caliphate of Córdoba, the civilization of that time, from the Roman
Latins of the Mediterranean, the civilization of that time, who founded the republic, democracy in Athens; our blood carries the resistant Black people who were turned into slaves by you. In Colombia lies the first free territory of the Americas, before Washington, of all the Americas, I take refuge there in their African songs.
    >
    >My land is of the goldsmiths that existed in the time of the Egyptian pharaohs, and of the first artists in the world in Chiribiquete.
    >
    >You will never dominate us. The warrior who rode our lands, shouting freedom, and who is called Bolívar, opposes you.
    >
    >Our peoples are somewhat fearful, somewhat shy, they are naive and kind, lovers, but they will know how to win back the Panama Canal, which you took from us with violence. Two hundred heroes from all over Latin America lie in Bocas del Toro, now Panama, before Colombia, whom you murdered.
    >
    >I raise a flag, and as Gaitán said, even if I am alone, it will remain raised with Latin American dignity, which is the dignity of America, which your great-grandfather didn’t know, but mine did, Mr. President, immigrant in the US.
    >
    >Your blockade does not scare me because Colombia, in addition to being the country of beauty, is the heart of the world. I know you love beauty as I do, don’t disrespect it, and it will offer you its sweetness.
    >
    >COLOMBIA FROM NOW ON FACES THE WHOLE WORLD, WITH OPEN ARMS, WE ARE BUILDERS OF FREEDOM, LIFE, AND HUMANITY.
    >
    >I have been informed that you impose a 50% tariff on the fruit of our human labor to enter the US, I will do the same.
    >
    >Let our people plant corn, which was discovered in Colombia, and feed the world.

  23. He refused to allow his ppl to be transported inhumanely so him sending his presidential plane for them himself is not folding, it’s saying, “we’re civilised, you’re an ape”

  24. And Valentine’s Day is just a mere 20 days away.

Hint: Our florists get 80% of their flower stock from Colombia. Good luck people forking over thousands of dollars for a dozen roses.

  25. Next move Trump renames the District of Columbia to the District of America

  26. Christ, the speed at which this is all happening. The Colombia thing, yes, and all of the Trump stuff. It’s fucking wild.

  27. I’m no economist, so how much can I expect these trade wars to lower the price of eggs?
