So, posti literally destroyed and WASHED my package which arrived completely wet and they literally come out with “we are sorry, this rare but it happens, Best regards” 😂. Now I was lucky that the content was a plastic item so it was not damaged, even though it was wet with disgusting liquid. You can see in photo what I received as a 15 euro delivery, great service 🙂. I also guess that if they destroyed the item inside taking back my money would be a nightmare. But hey, they are sorry 🤣.

Kaikkimeneepaskaks Oy was on it.
Yeah, I got my new passport from abroad like that that. Fully open and as wet as a fishes arse.
I’ve received hundreds of parcels (majority of them records) over 10 years and not one has arrived damaged or gotten lost in transit by Posti.
I once ordered some camera film from Tampere to Vantaa, it didn’t show up after 3-4 weeks and I got worried. Contacted posti and they couldn’t help and said they’d get back to me. 2 days later a package arrived, it was in a brown paper bag with lots of tape. Once I opened it, the original post bag was in there, ripped and crushed, complete with tire marks on it. IT WAS RUN OVER BY A TRUCK!
Still impressed they managed to tape it up and continue the delivery 🤣 everything was ruined.
You actually received your package? I’m still waiting on a package from mid-December! It has been in Posti’s depo since 2nd January despite me paying the fee weeks ago.
You’re supposed to leave cookies and milk out for the delivery guy. He obviously got hungry.
This is my experience with Finnish customer service in a nutshell. Very polite and apologetic but heaven forbid you are monetarily compensated. I’ve always found it a bit of an odd dichotomy.
At least they found your address…
Our last work delivery ended up in random building in Otaniemi instead of ours with 0 explanation. Nor many small items that got lost in delivery.
One positive thing is this leaving on porch concept though. Now that I live in a house (paritalo) with covered entrance, deliveries happen much better and no need to visit some delivery point all the time.
’item was not damaged’ what’s the problem here?
So it destroyed your packaging but not your content?
FYI, by default lost or damaged packages are only [compensated according to the weight](https://www.posti.fi/asiakaspalvelu/vahinkotilanteet/mita-posti-korvaa-ja-kenelle#posti-maksaa-korvausta-yleensa-painon-mukaan), typically 10-20€ per kg. If you want to be sure that you will be fully reimbursed for an expensive item if it is lost or damaged, make sure to buy insurance for the package.
We’re still waiting for Christmas cards from the UK. I filled in the customs declaration 2 months ago….
