  1. Good. Let’s negotiate a win-win trade pact between UK and EU. Without tariffs.

  2. Sadly reality is irrelevant for who’s in government, in the UK that is not sure anywhere else, more so now than it has ever been, even when stats or figures are literally presented to their faces, they just wont care.

  3. All polls in the UK say that British people prefer relationships with the EU over the US, even amongst people who voted to leave.

The polling on rejoining the EU grows stronger every year.

The problem is Keir Starmer and the Labour Party are so terrified of the right wing press in this country and Farage that they’re not going to act on what should be a popular policy.

    They’re spineless.

  4. Trade with a somewhat stable union vs trade with someone who threatens you with tariffs? Is it really that hard to chose tbh?

  5. Including constituencies that poll highest for Reform amusingly.

  6. If only there existed a way for trade with the EU to go smoothly.

  7. The UK already has tariff free, quote free trade access to the EU.

Let’s get the same with the US before trying to marginally improve the deal with the EU.

  8. Better to trade with Brussel bureaucrats than with the choleric used cars salesman from Washington.

  9. First we talk with Canada, then we’ll consider the UK.

  10. Next step will be Europe and the UK boycotting US by buying local and Asian?

  11. Who needs a flip flop inside the EU. It’s only 8 years since the idiots voted to leave.

  12. With the US threatening to impose tariffs every which way, there seems little point trying to prioritise trade with them.

  13. Can we please just reverse Brexit and admit everyone was misleading and misinformed about the pros / cons of leaving?

  14. >The survey, conducted by YouGov for [pro-EU campaign group Best for Britain](https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-uk-eu-trade-us-trump-b2659345.html), analysed responses from almost 15,000 people across England, Scotland and Wales.
Some 44 per cent of people think Britain’s economic future lies with its closest neighbours in the EU, compared with 19 per cent who think the government should prioritise links with the US, a YouGov poll commissioned by Best For Britain – a pro-EU campaign group – showed.

Survey published by a Pro-EU rag for a pro-EU campaign group, with 44% saying its’ better to have to have closer links to the EU and r/europe starts waiving Re-join flags….smh

  15. Britain already has trade with the EU.

    Usual Independent drivel

  16. Perhaps I misremeber but didn’t the Brits tell EU to gtfo with the post brexit trade proposals on the grounds of better trade deals with USA and Australia?

  17. Canada needs to also find new trade partners.

We have steel, lumber, oil, many rare earth elements, and a very educated work force.

Even if we don’t or can’t join the EU, please don’t forget about us.

We are a little freaked out, too.

  18. This is basically the question: “So, have you looked at a map before?” in slightly more complex terms. Add in the utter batshit crazy conditions in the Land of the Fee right now, hardly a surprise.

  19. Canada has a “free trade” agreement with the US. By “free trade” they mean any president can slap tariffs on Canada for any reason whatsoever. And they have.

Any treaty or trade agreement with the US isn’t worth the political capital it took to negotiate it.

  20. If only there were a way to easily trade with other European countries. Something like a union idk

  21. But…wait, we went ahead and made America “great again” what’s wrong? /s

  22. Britain needs to stop fucking around and come back to eu

  23. Everyone except Trump.

Who recently had a phone call with Starmer and afterwards was abnormally pleasant about the PM, going as far as to say ” he was doing a good job”.

I wonder what demands and threats Starmer caved in to to make that happen?
Probably an undying promise never to associate with the EU ever again.

  24. Brexit was the third dumbest idea I’ve ever seen inacted. Electing Trump are #1 & #2

  25. Good job we already have a trade deal with the EU.

  26. We could trade with EU, USA & China, Oz, NZ & Canada why do we have to choose, like in a school playground.
