The Belgian broadcaster VRT has announced the rules for the voting procedures of Eurosong 2025.
With a document published on their website, Belgian broadcaster VRT has explained the voting rules for Eurosong 2025, the Belgian national selection to choose a representative for Eurovision 2025.
The document explains that 1,170 points can be awarded during the competition, divided into 585 points (50%) from a professional jury and 585 points (50%) from the televote.
The jury will be composed of 15 members, all appointed by VRT. All of the members will be able to award the acts according to a Eurovision-style system of voting: 10 points to the first place, 8 points to the second place, 7 points to the third place, up until 1 point.
The lines for the televote will open as soon as the presenter announces so during the live show. The public will be able to vote through a designated SMS number, or digitally via a designated online platform. VRT retains only one vote per device per channel. As soon as the lines are closed, the points of the professional jury and of the public will be announced. The percentages of the televote are converted into points, with 100% corresponding to 585 points.
The jury will be formed of 15 members, 4 well-known people with links to Eurovision and 11 music experts.
The jurors are:
Gustaph – Winner of Eurosong 2023 and finished 7th at Eurovision 2023
Bart Cannaerts – Spokesperson at Eurovision 2023
Merol – Dutch singer
Emmelie de Forest – Winner of Eurovision 2013 for Denmark

Belgium was one of the seven nations who participated in the first edition of the Eurovision Song Contest in 1956. To date, the country has won the contest only once in 1986. Sandra Kim won the contest with the song “J’aime la vie”. Her victory was not without controversy when it emerged that Sandra was just 13 years old, two years younger than the age restriction at the time. In the late 00s, Belgium struggled in the contest failing to reach the final annually from 2005 until 2010, when Tom Dice finished 6th in the final with 143 points. Belgium has finished last at the contest eight times, including two sets of nul points.
