Its not old news. I saw an article about this last 2016 or 2017.
This is not Finland specific. Names that are different from cultural norms, are always discriminated upon. Always and everywhere.
if I with my Finnish name would apply for a job somewhere in Somalia and the guy who worked the job before me was Mohammed and many of the guys before him were Mohammeds too, who do you think they will recruit. Not me.
This is the same in a lot of western countries isn’t it? I’ve heard the same in the UK.
I don’t think this is Finland specific, it’s a subconscious bias that some employers seem to have

That ain’t new in Finland. Sadly, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment only recently discovered this.🤬
