In support of Data Privacy Week, Jan. 27 – 31, Plumas Bank announced its registration as a Champion with the National Cybersecurity Alliance. Plumas Bank recognizes and supports the principle that all organizations share the responsibility of being conscientious stewards of personal information.

Data Privacy Week serves to spread awareness about online privacy for people and organizations. NCA aims to help citizens understand that they have the power to manage their data and to help organizations understand why it is important that they respect their users’ data.

Aaron Boigon, Plumas Bank’s executive vice president and chief information officer said, “Securing our clients’ data is a top priority
at Plumas Bank. It’s [also] important to note that everyone has a responsibility to protect their personal data.”

All online activity generates a data trail. Websites, apps and services collect data on behaviors, interests and purchases. This often includes personal data, such as Social Security and driver’s license numbers. It may also include health data and other personal, physical information.
