I think I heard a while ago that this stuff improves the fertility of the soil and is really good for agriculture.
I saw pictures earlier and thought “wow,that looks crazy”. And then within the last 30-60 min everything turned slightly orange and really dark here too. I’m in southern Germany.

I remember I read some time ago that some saharan dust travels from Africa to the Amazon basin, helping to fertilize the soil over there. So although this is probably not good for air quality short-term, if the effect over spanish countryside is the same it might also have some positive benefits.

Similar, but not so intense in Switzerland
