So the U.K. are taking at least 200,000 refugees. It makes sense that the 200,000 have links with the U.K. and those refugees that don’t probably won’t want to come here anyway but prefer to stay closer to home ready to return.
The U.K. has also pledged to take more refugees than the EU countries, presuming the UN are correct with their four million estimate.
Please tell me where the “indifference” is because I can’t see it.
Brexit means brexit don’t want no immigrants or refugees here, just because we like to bomb foreign country’s on the regular doesn’t mean we should have to take responsibility when they no longer have homes…

I’d like to see a poll comparing the proportion of household who would offer their hospitality to Ukrainian refugees by country.

The worry for the Russian funded Tories is that an influx of Russian speaking Ukrainian refugees will be able to point out all the criminal russian influence in the UK and expose the extent of all the corruption.
The training and military equipment provided to Ukraine Armed Forces has helped them keep refugee corridors to the border open.
Unsurprisingly we haven’t taken nearly as many refugees as the surrounding countries given that the UK isn’t next to Ukraine.
The UK is singled out by Russia as being one of their main opponents.

It’s amazing how eagerly Johnson’s government latched on to the crisis to deflect from its scandals. They’re all big announcements, proclamations and denunciations, but when you actually see what they’re actually doing it amounts to very little. A mere distraction from the fact that the wing that controls the biggest party in the UK Parliament is in the pockets of Russian oligarchs or are very invested in the interest of Russian oligarchs.
Hardly a suprise when we have a government that is in power on the back of encouraging xenophobia, especially against people from Eastern Europe.
When it comes to world-beating indifference regarding refugees etc I think Japan has us beat by a significant margin. I mean for many consecutive years they’ve quite literally accepted and taken in zero, that’s right 0 refugees.
