I feel like this Jackdaw is judging me for neglecting my garden over winter

  1. It’s really quite happy you’ve left some leaves around actually. Bugs love chillin’ under dead leaves.

I’m sure he’d be kinda upset if you took the snack bar away tbh.

He probably tuts that you don’t even check for bugs properly when you do cleanup…Just wasteful.

  2. He looks like disgruntled quality control staff for sure! But also undisturbed leaves are the biggest bug life supporter – in bird term you’re getting ranked 5* as an establishment.

  3. That’s because he is. You have been visited by the Jackdaw of Judgement. Repent.

  4. He’s looking for some tasty treats under them, else he wouldnt stop to look around at all…

  5. Nah it’s a goldmine for birds. Wet, covered in leaves and fairly open. Means they can see any cats around whilst also having all the worms and bugs sitting on top of the ground just under the leaves. Easy pickings and great for the local birds.

  6. “Neglecting my garden”

I was expecting a Vajanuary post.

  7. Thats what my mum used to do when she cane into my room as a teenager. Silent judgment as she tossed discarded clothes about. Very rude

  8. Neglecting your garden is the perfect thing to do for nature. Those leaves will host a buffet of grubs for birds to eat.

  9. This is the best thing you can do for wildlife! They love having a root around for bugs and worms hiding under things. And searching for things engages their grey matter a bit.

  10. Nah he likes it! Think of all the grubs he gets to eat now!

  11. Give them peanuts in their shells. They can open them, seagulls can’t. I have a whole gang of corvids I feed with peanuts.

  12. Reminds me of my first room inspection in basic training.

  13. Feathers McGraw’s cousin is staking out your garden to make sure it’s safe for him to lay low for a while.

    Bloody chickens 😏

  14. Put some peanuts under some leaves and enjoy watching.
    No salt.
