  1. It has been for a while, thousands of $$ for a family of 4, the more you pay the better experience you will get.

Took my kids there once when they were 8-10, good age to experience everything, that was 15+ years ago, I cannot imagine how expensive it is at the moment.

  2. maybe im just an old curmudgeon now but It ain’t even that great imho

  3. I mean when I was a kid we went to Disney in the early 90s one time and that was it. And my parents could only afford it because my uncle died in a car accident and they got a share of money from the life insurance policy.

Disney has never really been a cheap place to take your kids.

  4. Life in general beginning to feel like a luxury experience

  5. Always was a Luxury experience, lmfao. Any destination that includes travel for an entire family is some elite level sh*t..

  6. It’s been overpriced since at least the 90s. You can literally rent a house on a tropical island for cheaper.

  7. It likely is

But there’s an issue of supply and demand going on here.

They are just packed even with prices so high.

  8. Life has become unaffordable for average Americans. Disney has been a luxury for a while.

  9. I haven’t been there in years. I took the kids to Orlando a number of years ago. It was like $300+ just to get in the park. X 3, so I spent a grand just walking in the door. Universal was similarly priced. Sea world was a little more reasonable. By the end of the week I was thinking that for the money I could have taken the kids to Europe, or on a safari, or to Hawaii or something. I’m blessed with a very well paying job, but I was thinking how does the average person making an average salary afford this? They would have to save up for years. And with the heat, and the long walk from the parking lot and around the parks the kids were shot half way through the day and wanted to go home.

  10. In Europe with Euro Disney is the same, since it’s inauguration, and only somewhat affordable for people living near Paris.

  11. Everything in this world is a luxury experience now. Taking the family to the movies? $100. Taking them to dinner? $100+. Concert for 4? That can easily get above $1000 now depending on the venue and artist.
Stop spending your money and enjoy other ways of experiencing things with/for kids.

  12. Ive always viewed it more like some sort of intelligence filter, been baffled for decades how some middle America slub will save up all year to take the family to orlando. As its only gotten more and more expensive, Ive only tripled down on my belief.

  13. It’s almost like regular Americans can’t afford most things they used to because they’re now luxuries for the ownership class.
