UN says M23 conflict in DR Congo could spark regional war • FRANCE 24 English

In the DRC, clashes continue between the Congolese army and its M23 allies and Rwandan military troops. The security situation remains tense in the east of the country, where new population movements are taking place. According to the United Nations, over 400,000 people have fled the fighting since the beginning of January.

  6. Based the Mali experience, the UN must leave and allow the DR Congo to deal with it. In Mali their exit led to the immediate recapture of Kidal.

    The introduction of the idea of 'regional' is interesting. Because beyond the regional lies the continental and beyond the continental, there is the world. The question becomes to what extent the so called M23 alone can spark a war that has national effect, regional effect and that cannot be solved in a world where lies the nations, and the regions?

    In a world with millions of organizations, millions of institutions, and millions of fora each year,?

    What is the UN and what is the M23?. The UN is the United Nations. How many nations are united? Why the nations united in an organization can consider that something called M23 conflict in DR Congo could spark regional war? What then is that M23

    A few months ago, the UN Chief was advocating for Africa's seats on the Security Council. This Security Council has permanent members with right of veto such as the US, UK, France, China and Russia.

    Instead of advocating for Africa's seats, why not prioritize the solution in Congo DRC where millions are suffering and ask a complementary from the countries that have the status of permanent members with right of veto?

    What really is the so-called M23?

  17. Useless UN officials spouting their utter shite again. I worked for the UN in peacekeeping. Almost all senior UN officials are just about themselves, earning what are by international standards huge salaries and allowances. The more senior, the more totally moral and money grabbing they are. I was disgusted with them when I worked for them and was glad to leave for the company of decent human beings.
