  1. This is brilliant and I hope it works and saves lives.

I can’t help pissing myself laughing at the machete/sword slot though 😂😂😂

All ya need is one for axes and chainsaws now 😎

  2. The more enterprising gangs out there will be waiting until they’re full then stealing the box.

  3. Would it be possible to drop one off after a crime?

  4. Do these work? I bet it’s just empty every time they open it.

  5. Put your sword in here! Why do I find this so funny

  6. Surely in theory though you could be arrested for carrying a weapon in public as you make your way to the box to drop off your machete?

  7. if i bin my knife, how am i gonna butter my toast? 😔

  8. I’ll keep mine thanks, definitely be identified on CCTV

  9. Now when you get pulled for carrying your sword you can say your on the way to the sword bank to dispose of it

  10. This would get so much more traffic if there was a giant plastic pirate at the top of it that randomly shot out.

  11. What if a baddie gets caught with a knife, and just says he was on his way to bin it?

  12. Ah yes, what a wonderful waste of time. Why should the government face the actual causes of the rise in violence when they can just blame the knives themselves, much easier.

Don’t worry though, there is absolutely no way a screwdriver could ever be used to stab anyone, they’re totally safe.

Not to mention bricks, saws, drills. A fucking fork can be used a weapon if someone wanted.

  13. Christ on a bike.. this can’t be real! Who’s idea was this?! This was seriously pitched and it became a thing? We’re evolving backwards holy shit…

  14. This stuff is so bloody stupid. This isn’t going to save a single life. People have access to knifes, unless we become a police state, they always will. It’s people’s willingness to use them to stab each other that causes knife crime.

  15. Do these actually make a difference? Surely the kind of person who carries around a machete isn’t going to see a box and think “oh you know what, I’ll get rid of it.”

  16. It’s a lovely idea, but does anyone honestly think this will work? (A) people may well drop knives in there but it’ll be after actually doing stabbings and (b) the branding is like something out of a Mitchell and Webb BBC Bitesize spoof (‘Get a life, Bin that knife’, seriously?).

Something desperately needs to be done to get knives off our streets and the kids who use them back on the right track, but I don’t think these blue boxes are it.

  17. It’s the most ridiculous idea ever xD how tf do you expect a knife-wielding evil guy to just be like ”oh a bin knife! I guess I’ll just get rid of all the weapons and start being a good citizen again 😇” Bruh…

  18. Oh shit amnesty box? Iv been using them as free knife vending machines all this time… big oops on my part xD

  19. This has made me wonder what you’re supposed to do with old kitchen knives. Do they go somewhere like this too or just to general bin waste?

  20. Disappointed there’s no fauchard, military fork, morning star or bec-de-corbin hole. Dam Tory cuts!

  21. id be keen to know how many knives actually get dropped in here.

im just thinking that even if you have some epiphany, and decide skenging people up for fun is bad, you just stick that knife in the kitchen drawer and use it for its intended purpose, rather than chucking it away.

machetes and swords…..yeah i suppose. be a bit ironic if you got stopped on the way to do it and done for carrying though.
