While on vacation hiking in Sedona, AZ, I had the good fortune of meeting German hikers along the trail in one of the more popular spots. A middle-aged couple, the woman especially, exuded such joy. She said, “I feel so lucky to be here!” with a big smile on her face.
I’ve always chuckled at the German hiker stereotype, but to see them in the wild where I could literally feel their deep appreciation of the landscape was both humbling and lovely to see.
So thank you German hikers! You made this cranky American’s day. (And yes I’m pretty sure they were wearing Jack Wolfskin 😂)
