  1. I’m not Greenland born but I am ride or die for Kalaallit Nunaat 🇬🇱🇬🇱🇬🇱

I’m American but most of my time and energy are spent on matters in or relating to Greenland.

My focus is mostly on remote parts of Greenland in the north and northeast but I have been to almost every town in Greenland over the course of six years.

I have deep relationships in these towns of 600 people and less and they took me in. Perhaps because I’m also a minority, perhaps because of my empathy.

I moderate [r/greenlandtravel](/r/greenlandtravel/) and am an elder here on [r/greenland](/r/greenland/)

I don’t comment on politics but I will post a picture of the Kalaallisuut

Story about how I received a Kalaallisuut (Greenland National) costume and its history in the comments.

Thank you for being part of this community and learning about Greenland from us.

We look forward to helping as many of you as possible visit or at least better understand the amazing and resilient country, Kalaallit Nunaat.

The flag is called erfalasorput. I hope it’s easy to remember the sea, the ice and the sun in the simple but powerful flag. 🇬🇱🇬🇱🇬🇱

  2. Do you think if every resident were offered $10M and US citizenship to become a US Territory, the majority of Greenlanders would take it?
Would be interesting to get a real view from the ground there!

  3. Bueatiful….and honestly, we don’t want Greenland (as great as it is), we just want some eggs that don’t cost $10 a dozen…. and a leader who isn’t a complete dumbass.

  4. Thank you for sharing,

Greenland has been in the news recently

  5. Each family has their own pearl pattern, and the name of the flag is “our flag” which was officially adopted on summer solstice 1985, also the same year the date became celebratory day.

  6. There are things the USA can’t do without consequencies.
    Greenland is safe!

  7. I’m genuinely curious if they refer to it as a costume or an outfit etc. If anyone knows if they do it not, please let me know! I love studying cultures and the people of different regions and some refer to their cultural outfits as costumes where as others find that to be demeaning to their culture. I have no idea where Greenland stands and I would love to know more!
