The solution: Cars have to be registered on households and limit the number of cars per household, or make it financially a nitghmare to own a second one. Many would say “are you serious?”….. Yes, unfortunately the worst thing for the human is to accept change and this would be a good one for the environment and overall lifestyle.
One should also compensate those not using a car.
It’s truly a catch-22.
Traffic is a major problem. I wish I took the bus more but if I ever go out late, then I would have to leave by 11:30pm; if I want to go to school I have to leave like 2-3 hours before because there is only 2 buses which come once an hour, are almost always full, and take a longer and more congested route to go to school; if I want to go to work I need to leave much earlier, only to still have a full bus most of the time and its even worse when I finish work, as all of those buses also take longer and more congested routes.
I try not to use my car for short distances but if I want to the next town over, I risk falling on broken, shitty pavements and being crushed by cars, buses and trucks because there are places with no pavement whatsoever
As bad for the environment (and my wallet) as a car is, is shaves off so much time from my commutes that it is quite hard for me not to use.
I really want public transport to be actually good and useable, I would use a metro or tram if they are done well and efficient. But buses are in such a bad state that there is only so much patience I have for them.
Even now I’m about to head out and if I were to take the bus, I would have had to leave over an hour ago. With my car, I can be there so much quicker that it makes a massive impact for me.
Obligatory fuck Ian Borg.
I think ur probably safe with most of the the reddit crowd
