> Buy no more than three new items of clothing per year
This is a bit ridiculous, clothes wear out and need replacing. Some things can be bought secondhand but socks and underwear?
The clothing and flying points are ridiculous. Seven years also seems a lot for many electrical devices, especially the lower quality cheaper ones may not even survive that long. I get that the climate change is a serious problem and there must be some changes made, but really don’t see this list as realistic.
Could barely get people to wear a mask during a very real and visible pandemic.
I lost all faith that people are willing to make even minor inconvenient changes to their lifestyle.
It was game over years ago when the methane began leaking out of the permafrost.
Ah yes, I’ll try to fly less than the zero flights I’ve taken since 2006.

I get that we should all do our part
But major change takes more than what an individual or group of individuals can do. Corporate and Government level BIG changes will have more impact.
During drought times in CA we were required to reduce water usage particularly outdoor watering. Had a veggie garden so very challenging! Happy to do it. But the same restrictions did not apply to commercial properties which dumped zillions of gallons on landscape watering. Just caused a lot of little guy vs big guy resentment.
Take 1 short haul flight over 3 years? Um, nah, sorry, I’d rather the earth died.
One long haul flight every 8 years? That’s one long business trip I’m going on.
There is one key change to help avert the climate crisis – end corporate greed.
So let’s see what they want me to do
1) eat a mostly plant based diet with healthy potions, ok I can do that if I tried it would help me lose weight too
2) only buy 3 new sets of clothes per year ok going to be a bit annoying when I have to replace my entire wardrobe as I lose weight but do able (I’m still buying new underwear tho because used underwear are gross)
3) keep electronic products for seven years) I mean I’ll try for that but if it breaks I’m going to get a new one so it might last 7 years might not
4) take only 1 longhaul flight every 8 years) sorry but my girlfriends American and I want to see her as much as I can until I can move their so maybe 1/2 times a year then after that I’ll still want to see my parents and family at least once or twice a year especially if we have children so this one I refuse to do
Maybe the people who take a flight every week should cut down before you start hurting people like me
5) don’t own a car I don’t own a car but I want to because public transport is shit outside of London and sorry I don’t want to waste 3/4 hours a day sitting on a bus when I do get a job
6) life style shift) ok this one looks doable but I don’t have a pension my house has been insulated and pretty sure my parents couldn’t afford to move to a green energy supplier if energy prices keep going up
Fuck this. I can recycle, walk and use public transportation but my contribution is peanuts compared to what companies should do and don’t.
Taking short showers is nothing when water companies pollute our waterways.
Go after companies.
I’ve already adopted all these lifestyle changes apart from the electricals one. I *try*, but currently my phone is 4.5 years old and freezes/restarts itself so often it’s becoming unusable.
Eat a largely plant-based diet, with healthy portions and no waste
Take no more than one short haul flight every three years and one long haul flight every eight years
LOOOOOOOOOOOOL
Go fuck yourself
There is nothing you or I can do except enjoy the ride. Nothing.
And the big tech wants people to be back to office 🙁 . The world is only concerned about more and more growth not thinking once the amount of emission it would add.
Companies and organisations just want to get back to normal.
