Frankly, the Ukrainian command has been behaving very strangely lately. For example, why didn’t they allow their troops to retreat from Velyka Novosilka? Were they simply too hesitant or were they counting on something?
I think both west and Ukraine came to realization that this war cannot be won on the battlefield and the longer it goes on the worse the terms of peace will be. Unfortunately Putin knows that as well so naturally he will drag his feet while Trump is causing chaos in the back lines.
First Ukraine needs to end the Kursk offensive – it clearly failed. Ukrainian Army deployed its best troops there who could be used elsewhere. At this point its a distraction Ukraine doesn’t need. Russians don’t care much either – they’re more than happy to slowly grind it down.
Second we need to force global south to stop trading with Russia – we need ironclad meaningful sanctions. Those will hurt EVERYONE – especially European markets. If we don’t do this Russia will just take their time before negotiations to grind Ukraine into submission.
Third Ukraine needs to hold elections – we need a man with a mandate to make a a lasting peace. Zelensky was a good wartime leader but now we need someone new.
Fourth Europe needs to commit to deploy troops to monitor the ceasefire – it won’t be easy and it won’t be cheap but its gotta be done.
Fifth we all have to face the reality Ukraine being morally right won’t affect negotiations at all. They are losing and the terms of peace will reflect that – today might makes right.
95% of the journalists agree with whoever is funding them.
Now that it’s no longer USAID money calling the shots a lot of shocking revelations about the Ukrainian conflict are going to start making the scene.
It didn’t even take a day since that funding has been cut for a lot of “independent” and “free speech” big name Ukrainian news outlets to start posting announcements that they’ll be introducing subscription models going forward. Eagerly waiting to see what other kinds of changes those funding cuts are going to cause, Ukraine or elsewhere.
> The good news for Kyiv is being delivered by its long-range drone forces, which continue to inflict damaging and costly strikes on airfields, military bases, weapons factories and fuel facilities many hundreds of kilometres inside Russia.
The entire front line is crumbling and there are countless issues across the board, but the “good news” among all of this is that Ukraine is being delivered the means to enact pinprick attacks into Russian territory.
It doesn’t help Ukrainian situation in any way of course, but it does facilitate the desire for whoever is providing those means to hurt Russia in any way they can; since the Ukrainian armed forces are no longer capable of doing that themselves.
Regardless of the consequences that the proxy they are using to do this will have to suffer for it. Their purpose is to suicide against the cop while trying to do as much damage to that cop as they can.
You can only kill so many russian meat waves.. – until ammunition is out or even the fasted reload isn’t enough to keep up with the speed Russia wastes it’s people to push through.. – I guess.
That’s what happens when you have a sociopath leading a death cult that treats tens of millions of people nothing more than disposable meat shields. You can’t win against that.
