>“I look at it from a very specific perspective, which is if you’re so rich and powerful, why are you not just spending your days doing good things for the world,” Eisenberg said. “So it’s hard for me to understand the specifics of what they’re doing.”
>He continued, ““You know, I married a woman who’s like this amazing activist. All she thinks about all day is, ‘How can I help the people who are most in need?’ So when I watch these incredibly powerful people, I just think, ‘Why are you not spending your day helping people?’ Why are you getting mired into this weird stuff — stuff I don’t really understand — and taking privacy concerns away, hurting people who are already hurting, marginalized people? I just can’t even understand that, so I’m not exactly thinking about them in politics. I’m just thinking, ‘Why are they not spending every day helping people?’”
But didn’t he steal Facebook?
Do you think they actually care about the common man (or woman or non-binary)?
How would you spend your time & life if every financial concern you have currently was eliminated tomorrow ? And you had excess reserves multipled by infinity ?
Philanthropy is dead. The rich consider the masses as commodities, not people.
He was the zuckerburg we should have had .
Coming from Lex Luther, this means a lot.
*tech bros in unison*
NO!!!
Jesse Eisenberg has a net worth of $10 million. Hopefully he’s also spending every day helping people.
This is coming from Lex Luthor, so you know it’s bad if he is saying they need to do better.
He made facebook, one of the most evil companies in the world. I dont wanna hear a single thing he has to say
Rich, comming from Lex effing Luthor /s
Another thought bubble from someone who doesn’t matter!
Reaganomics in the modern tech era wouldn’t be such a bad thing, the downside is we’ll see our first trillionaire, the idea is that we’re all going to get rich because stock market engagement is at an all time high, and the ultimate upside is many of us will have better job retention because our economy doesn’t run on steam factories anymore
The ultimate boss move is to sit back and observe here, not everything can be concluded
What does Ja Rule think about this?
Yeah and I think there shouldn’t be poverty or hunger. Moron
man social network 2 is gonna be wild one day
This shouldn’t be a headline, it should be a consensus. Unfortunately, greed and selfishness are the pillars of many people’s concept of capitalism.
The whole point of life is helping each other out.
Naw, they wanna have that kind of power what Politics has that shit
Jesse is right. He’s brave to speak about it.
When you run a monopoly you can afford to spend every day preventing your company from being labelled a monopoly. You can’t take a day off helping peasants! You don’t schmooze, ya lose.
They are spending everyday helping people it is just that the “people” they are helping is themselves.
i saw someone say that rich people should protect everyone from poverty like the military protects it’s citizens from attacks.
Wow, thanks Jesse for saying what everyone has been saying for years. So brave.
Nonsense! This is Mark Zuckerberg in disguise! We’ve all the movie!
I wish this guy was in more movies for real.
The fact they have that money and don’t help is a sign of their extreme and damaging greed.
If you wake up every day with personal assets to rival some countries and choose to *not* help, you’re a cancer on civilization.
All you do is over-acquire resources, taking them away from people who meed them.
So we are taking advice from rich people complaining about richer people now? Is that we’re we are at?
Thanks Jesse eisenberg. Too bad our individual nobody voices don’t get heard by a bunch of people that already agree with us too.
Jesse and his wife just gained my respect.
I wouldn’t care if they never spent a dollar helping anyone if they’d just stop putting their finger on the scale to screw over the little guy. You have the money to do anything you possibly want, every day for the rest of your life, and the thing you’re trying to do is accumulate more? What a miserable existence. Not as miserable as grinding everyday in jobs you hate, barely getting by, while getting screwed over constantly the rich and powerful, but miserable nonetheless.
Jesse has played at least 2 tech bros in his career so I feel like he has a unique perspective on this
Plus he’s absolutely right anyway businessman should not be in politics
Sounds like a great guy as now I have another reason to appreciate him as a person! Plus, side note he’s a great actor and his rules for a zombie apocalypse are definitely spot on!
Tax policy is moral policy. If the society believes the money should be used to better society, then the money shouldn’t be left in the hands of those who will hoard it.
Somewhere there’s a balance between a reasonable reward for effort and innovation versus the level of income inequality we’re currently stuck with.
Unfortunately, when elected officials make these rules, and the elections are for sale, those who can afford to buy the elections (or a media platforms) reap outsized rewards.
Does he do that?
