  1. Yeah when Cuba is calling you out for brutality you are doing something wrong.

  2. Countries should call Trump’s bluff instead of capitulating to him. He’s only going to be around 4 years. Wait it out.

  3. Trump paving the way for fascists globally now, I wonder how far this experiment in fascism/libertarianism will go.

  4. For not being a Nazi, he sure is following their playbook

  5. I may dislike the Cuban government, but on this one specific occasion I agree with them.

  6. Yeah there isn’t enough room there to host them. Trump just saber rattling like his father husbando Putin.

  7. How can this be true? Didn’t Obama close down Guantanamo?

  8. It’s a facility to house mass amounts of individuals indefinitely without trial. This is a concentration camp. Trump even says they don’t want to send these people back to any country. It’s life imprisonment in a camp. I’m genuinely horrified. Do people realize what is happening right now?

The argument that it’s just violent and sexual criminals is identical to that of the first Nazi concentration camps. Look it up.

  9. How does impeachment work exactly? Trump has been saying and doing some wild things. Can he actually be impeached and stripped of his presidency?

  10. The cruelty is the point. Trump is a monster who will burn for his sins.

  11. So, the Latinos are the Jews in this new version?

  12. So as someone who was stationed there, to get a likely idea of what this will be, it will likely not be the prison camp where we held GWOT detainees. That camp held hundreds, not tens of thousands.

What will likely be happening is they will be where the Haitian refugees lived. There is precedence of using the base for this. In the 1990’s we had somewhere around 30k refugees there. Now back then, it looked like a tent town. When I was there, there were still some that still resided there. They lived in actual housing. Some had jobs on base too.

If I had to guess, they might use the trailer units which we had a bunch of there. Service members often live in them when their arriving commands are in-processing. They were serviceable but damn they were over airconditioned.

Not saying that this is a good thing or my words are definite. Just saying that they likely won’t be using the prison camp as some might imagine.

  13. $390 billion annually.
That is a rough estimate for how much it would cost.

As of 2022, the annual expenditure to detain fewer than 40 prisoners at Guantanamo Bay exceeded $540 million, equating to over $13 million per prisoner per year.

  14. There’s a reason why most refugees don’t seek asylum in Guantanamo. Terrible place ran by terrible people. But I’m only a second hand source

  15. Probably will house people from Venezuela there since their govt won’t take them back

  16. I might agree with the Cuban government on this one. But please don’t forget that they still imprison political dissidents. Cuba should take its own advice! #abajoladictadura

  17. Not even two weeks in and we’re just barreling toward fascism, full steam ahead.

  18. Why does something tell me that people other than immigrants are going to find themselves incarcerated there 🤔

  19. When exactly are we going to have a mass protest against this administration? It’s day 9 and it’s obvious they are speed running a fascist take over. Are we waiting until they come for the guns? Because I’m assuming that’ll be very very soon.

  20. It’s perfect because when they start deporting american citizens, nobody will be able to verify it since they’re in fucking gitmo.

  21. Honestly one of Obama’s great failures was failing to close Guantanamo

  22. Arent there any international laws against concentration camps? There has to be?

  23. I shouldn’t be siding aginst my country with cuba on any fucking thing.

    Yet here we are.

  24. Any decent human should rebuke it. It’s fucking DISGUSTING.

  25. You could say he wants to concentrate people into a single camp. Something of a concentration camp.

  26. It’s almost like someone would sign an order to reopen Treblinka, Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Dachau and other WW2 concentration camps “to detain” people. Back then, they should have destroyed this damn place. Its detainees weren’t properly investigated, judged and sentenced, but jailed and tortured in this hellhole until they went crazy.

  27. **“Some of them are so bad we don’t even trust the countries to hold them because we don’t want them coming back, so we’re going to send them out to Guantanamo.”**

Without a trial, humans disappearing to be held forever… in a concentration camp.

They will start killing them when they run out of space. This is where we are in history. What are we going to do about it? Seriously. WTF can we do? We are watching this in real time…this isn’t a fucking documentary of a far gone era most folks can’t even relate even though they should. This is the here and now.

  28. When Cuba calls out the USA *and is morally correct and unhypocritical to do so* you know you’ve hit the dystopian timeline.

  29. Don’t capitulate to their language. Call it what it is. Concentration camp. Don’t let them astroturf our society and language. Call it what it is.

  30. If not concentration camp, why concentration camp shaped?

  31. How many parallels to Hitler does there need to be before people decide to band together and stop Trump?

Are we really going to wait for him to announce himself as president for life? He’s definitely going to if no one stops him. There’s nothing in his way right now and it’s clear he idolizes dictators.

  32. Isn’t Cuba currently a failed state with its power grid shitting itself like every weekend? They’re right, but still they aren’t in a great position to be judging any other States right now hahaha
