A 32-year-old man from Walworth County is dead after a two-vehicle crash near Highway K (Apple Road and) Beaumont Avenue (Highway S) in the town of Norway on Jan. 29, according to the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.Deputies, the Norway Police Department, the Norway Fire Department and Kansasville Fire and Rescue were all dispatched to the scene just after 3:30 p.m. A witness reported that one person was unresponsive.The sheriff’s office said that based on its preliminary investigation, the 32-year-old man stopped at a stop sign for Beaumont Avenue. It’s believed that he was unfamiliar with the area and pulled out in front of a utility pickup truck heading east on Highway K.The 32-year-old man had to be extricated from his car after the crash. Fire and rescue personnel, along with Flight for Life, tried to save the man. He eventually died from his injuries at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.The driver of the truck, a 28-year-old from Racine, remained at the scene and was fully cooperative with investigators. The 28-year-0ld did not need any medical attention. The sheriff’s office believes neither driver showed any signs of impairment. Nobody else was in either vehicle.The Racine County Sheriff’s Office Major Crash Assistance Team is still reconstructing the crash as the investigation continues.
