[Hamas](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/hamas-reemerge-gaza-israel-war-rcna189088) plans to release three Israeli hostages on Thursday, including two women and an 80-year-old man, as well as five Thai nationals abducted during the Oct. 7, 2023 attack.
The Hostages Families Forum said it had received news that Hamas will release the eight abductees. The forum is a volunteer-based group formed by the families of the abductees after the attack.
Among those the militant group plans to release is [Arbel Yehoud](https://www.nbcnews.com/news/world/qatar-says-deal-place-release-israeli-hostage-allow-palestinians-north-rcna189358), 29, whom Israeli officials had expected to be freed last weekend in the first phase of the ceasefire deal, in which a total of 33 hostages are expected to be released.
It is a miracle that Gadi Moses, who is almost 81, is apparently alive because he appeared very unwell in a video Hamas released in late 2023. Many of his family members were murdered on Kibbutz Nir Oz that day and his return will be a gift to his surviving family.
It seems they are returning the Thai guest workers without any exchange for Palestinian prisoners. They have kept these people in their dungeons for 480 days for no purpose, and will now release them in order to appear benevolent. I hope Israel will arrange first class flights for their families to greet them too.
how many hostages have been released thus far out of the total amount of hostages?
