  1. > “It’s crazy because most people do eight [seasons] max, you know what I mean? Or 12. But it’s a one-of-a-kind place,” Thompson says. “It’s the people in front and behind that embrace it, need it. **So when they call me, what, am I not supposed to oblige the greatest job in the world? So it’s just out of love. What a blessing it is to have steady employment.”**

  2. Kenan knows what he’s good at and, probably, what he’s not. He’s the most amazing utility player. In his 20+ years, he has very few super popular recurring characters, but he has a way of slaughtering wherever he’s placed and being able to elevate an otherwise okay sketch (see last week’s fart attack bit: “Just let me die!”)

He’s not a great “actor” in the traditional sense and he probably knew he’d never be a movie star – again, in the traditional sense. His contribution to the show has been immeasurable and he’s a comforting, familiar face in an everchanging atmosphere.

Long Live Kenan. Long live SNL.

  3. He’s probably the only contender to replace Lorne.

  4. Dude was on All That and Kenan and Kel back in the mid to late 90s. Sketch comedy is what he does.

  5. A.) Money
B.) what’s the alternative?  A shitty sitcom? A small part in a comedy movie that makes 20 million on a 14 million budget?

Best case scenario for him if he left SNL is gameshow host. Maybe take over Family Feud from Steve Harvey

  6. Kenan’s been solid on SNL. As bad as the show’s been sometimes, he’s never been bad. He does the skits and brings his best to the table.

  7. He gets to be the worst part of any episode and likely can’t find other work. Why would he leave.

  8. I’m glad for him. I personally think he is one of the most unfunny people in comedy, but, to each their own.

  9. Career in sketch comedy or a sketchy future in movies? Kenan picked his lane and is killing it!

  10. Honestly, what else would he do? I don’t think he had any appeal outside of SNL tbh. While other cast members branch out to different projects, he just kinda stays in his bubble and I think that’s for a reason.

  11. Just like The Roots taking the late night gig. Steady job, lots of holiday time and can sleep in your own bed. I’d take that over living vicariously project to project and spending months at a time not in my own bed.

  12. I mean he’s been doing this type of comedy his entire career. Why would he stop? He clearly enjoys it enough. All That is the kid version of SNL basically. Good for him

  13. Nice guy but isn’t funny enough to support a solo career.
