Trump executive order to end birthright faces legal pushback • FRANCE 24 English

A district court judge temporarily blocked Donald Trump’s executive order aimed at restricting birthright citizenship on Thursday, calling the attempt “blatantly unconstitutional” as per the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution. The judge’s decision came as a coalition of 22 states filed a lawsuit against Trump’s order, which would force federal agencies to not recognize birthright citizenship for children who don’t have at least one parent who is already a US citizen.

  1. 14th Amendment birth right "parents needed to be subject to jurisdiction" established. Not illegal invader no rights

  2. Trump's Executive Order is unconstitutional, but SCOTUS will invent a legal justification and rule in his favor.

The Originalists led by Roberts and Gorsuch are fervent believers in the interpretation of the constitution not as it should be, but based on how the Founding Fathers, (all white and conservative) would have wanted it to be.

  3. Trump may have issued the said Executive Order to stamp out birth tourism. Most women from Africa and the Caribbean come to American hospitals solely to give birth and acquire American passports for their kids who end up going back with the mothers to their first country.

These kids owe no allegiances to Uncle Sam. They pay no federal or state taxes. Yet they enjoy free medical and recreational services when they visit America. A bit unfair, if I may say so.

  4. Great! The US will stop feeding itself of our people, hopefully… I guess they'll other ways of extorting our resources. Pirates will always be pirates.
