White House: Biden will travel to Europe for Ukraine talks

  1. Something’s brewing allright, what with the supposed FSB leaked doc from today and all this show of Western unity

  2. Meanwhile, Trump’s praising Putin for being the greatest peace keeper, and then he invades Ukraine…

  3. >He will also attend a scheduled European Council summit, where efforts to impose sanctions and further humanitarian efforts are underway.

Hopefully those sanctions will bring some concrete fruit as soon as possible. Till then, what to do? What might be decided in that summit regarding the possibility of giving more help to Ukraine, both humanitarian and defensive? I guess no one really wants the no fly zone. Poland, Romania and the Baltic Republics will understandably ask for more military in their territories.

  4. “While he’s there, his goal is to meet in person face-to-face with his European counterparts and talk about, assess where we are at this point in the conflict in the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. We’ve been incredibly aligned to date,” Psaki said. “That doesn’t happen by accident.

Hopefully he can talk about what to do moving forward. It feels like the short term actions that were promised upon a Russian invasion have been followed through and not a lot of discussions on what to do moving forward need to happen. It’s also a good time for him to visit since he just signed that 13.6B aid package for Ukraine.
