Forward Hlín Eiríksdóttir has signed for Leicester City Women from Swedish club Kristianstads DFF.

The 24-year-old has agreed to a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Foxes and will join her new teammates ahead of their Women’s Super League match against Everton on Sunday, February 2.

Speaking to Foxes Hub, Eiríksdóttir said: “I am really happy to be here and looking forward to getting started with the team. I am honoured to be here.

“I am coming here with ambition, a will to win and to work hard. I can spread some energy across the team on and off the pitch. I hope to contribute with some goals. I feel like I have such a great opportunity to improve here.”

Eiríksdóttir arrives in England after a strong spell in Sweden, where she scored 26 goals in 51 appearances for Kristianstads DFF.

She began her career with Icelandic club Valur, making her senior debut at 15 and scoring 33 goals before moving to Piteå IF in Sweden.

Her performances at Piteå earned her a move to Kristianstads DFF, where she played in a side that secured a fourth-place finish in the 2024 Damallsvenskan season.

On the international stage, Eiríksdóttir has won 43 caps for Iceland since her debut in 2018, scoring six goals, including one against Denmark at the Algarve Cup.
