It’s not like they were making that much of a difference while they were in Russia.
I haven’t seen a single educated russian actually supporting Putin. However, it’s extremely expensive for them to move anywhere outside Putins sphere of influence, like, e.g. neighbouring Latvia has triple the average wage, EU is too expensive for these educated Russians.
There is a brain drain problem in the entirety of Eastern Europe.
