Princess Beatrice and Eugenie are currently non-working members of the Royal Family, which means they both earn a living for themselves and are not benefiting from taxpayer-funded security.

Speculation has arisen on whether the two would ever become working royals, particularly as the two York sisters stepped up to help with royal engagements following the cancer diagnoses of King Charles and Princess Kate last year.

Despite having their own careers, the royals still occasionally attend events on behalf of the King, leading to speculation about their increasing role within the firm.

Royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News that he doesn’t think the sisters will become working members. In a six-worded statement, he said: “I can’t see them doing more.” He added: “It could change.”

The leading commentator also thinks that part of the reason is because of the public “toxic theme” surrounding their father.

Prince Andrew stepped down from royal duties in 2019 and has kept a low public profile since his controversial Newsnight interview with Emily Maitlis in which he discussed his friendship with the late convicted paedophile, Jeffery Epstein.

Mr Fitzwilliams said: “The problem is the York brand has a toxic theme.”

He explained how the sisters are unable to distance themselves from their father, however, they “have their own jobs” and are “happily married”.

He further added: “So in different circumstances, if Andrew were still a working royal, then most certainly I would have thought Beatrice and Eugenie could have done more.”

Prince Andrew‘s daughter, Beatrice, will be focusing on motherhood for now as she has just given birth to a baby girl, named Athena, born on January 22.

Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi was born at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London, weighing four pounds and five ounces.

In a statement, the palace said: “Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of the Royal Family have all been informed and are delighted with the news.”

Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, also share a three-year-old daughter, Sienna, and Edo also has an eight-year-old son, Wolfie from a previous relationship.
