Ukrainian units have reinforced additional defensive lines, allowing them to hold back the enemy’s advance.

Russian forces are unlikely to launch a direct assault on Kostiantynivka, as it would take significant time and result in heavy losses. Holding positions in Chasiv Yar plays a key role in repelling the offensive.

This was stated in an interview with “Hromadske” by Vadym Krykun, call sign “Yankee,” commander of the 5th Special Forces Battalion of the 12th Brigade of the National Guard Azov.

“I’m not sure they will go for a frontal assault on Kostiantynivka. It’s a matter of speed, and such an operation would take them a lot of time,” the commander noted.

However, he warned that enemy maneuvers could create a difficult situation, in particular, from the Pokrovsk direction or a flanking attack from Chasiv Yar.

“Chasiv Yar is a high point from which effective artillery strikes can be conducted all the way to Druzhkivka,” the commander explained.
